Crazy Train

I rode her crazy train, to the next day
where she did a sneak move in, when-I, was-not, lookin’

I was not red-day’, she did it, anyway
now I’m stuck ri-din’, this God-for-sa-ken

[chorus]
Crazy Train – she over stayed
Crazy Train – she won’t go away
Crazy Train – she is insane
Why can’t I – step off the train?

she threw me on board, strapped me down, safely stored
I didn’t agree to this, she won’t hear, ‘I quit’

her arrangements, to meet the, parents
I planned to end, I-want, in-de-pendence

[chorus]

I tried to break free, she would not, let me leave
stuck on th-e train’ with a ball, and a chain

nine months la–ter, there is a, ne-w girl
they’re alike – growing up cra-zy – just like my-wife

Grayscale of Crazy

Crazy love. Look for the So- But- therefore-

About that kind of love that when you get home and walk through the door and see him, you throw your keys on the floor to free up your hands to kiss. The kind of love that breaks up an existing relationship/marriage. Make up a character – Sue. Beautiful young woman in the prime of her life. The best part is knowing your in the prime of your life and madly in love. That’s when you buy the good underwear / lingerie. BUT let’s make her the crazy one, so the viewpoint has to be from the male partner? What are examples of crazy love? then borderline into just crazy? Remember JP pushing the couch out the second level balcony? Driving at high speeds to impress them? Mistake excitement and danger with passion. DRIVE crazy fast to get to the one they love. much in the same way as a cocaine fueled night out. Planning a future, meet your friends, meet family, compliments, Overly possessive or jealous, (WHY you washing your car?), stalking, got a tattoo,

This takes too long. Can you go straight to the So, but, therefore?

So I meet this girl and our 1st date lasted 32 hours because we didn’t want to say goodbye.
But as we date, I see signs of possessiveness, jealousy, push to meet the parents, and making future plans. This makes me cautious. She is borderline crazy.
Therefore, I am too scared to break it off with her for fear she will go full tilt crazy. I can just deal with a little bit of crazy, because crazy is a sliding scale anyway, and if we can just keep her on this side of it, we’ll be okay.

v1- SO I meet this girl
chorus – I am a little crazy
v2- BUT I start seeing signs that she’s a little too much crazy
chorus – she is a little crazy
v3- Therefore, I become a little scared of her
chorus – I am a little crazy for staying with her

Write 2 lines to support the title: We’re all a little bit of crazy because it’s a sliding scale anyway. I’m on this side of the scale and she’s on that side of the scale. But who’s counting? HAS TO BE BLACK AND WHITE – it’s a grayscale. **Crazy is measured in a scale of black and white. White is okay, not crazy, or even a little gray is okay. But the black side of crazy is all the way crazy, so what shade of crazy are you?

Gray, OK, in play, stay, pray, Cray,
white, liked, lights, fights, invite, striped, excites, swiped, wide
Black, exact, react, ask, attack, attract, back, relax, cracked, hacked

Write the chorus

I measure crazy from black to white
a linear scale that looks like stripes
a little crazy is okay
but she fall’s into a whole lot of gray

Can you measure crazy with just black and white?

Don’t measure crazy with just black and white
there’s space in between with gray stripes
a little crazy is okay
but she fall’s into a whole lot of gray

Don’t measure crazy from left to right
crazy don’t run from black to white
a little crazy is okay
but she fall’s into a whole lot of gray

Don’t measure crazy from black to white
that scale don’t measure from left to right
a little crazy is okay
but she fall’s into a whole lot of gray

X crap. your chorus doesn’t hook in the title. This could be the preceding verse? or a 2 sectioned longer chorus?

Crazy, they see, grey sea, may see, eighty, they be, Jan Brady, blame me, amaze me, play me, Gray, OK, in play, stay, pray, Cray,
Scale, detail, emails, bailed, pale, derailed, unveil

but she fall’s into a crazyscale of gray
but she falls into a grascale of crazy

Can’t measure crazy from black to white
that scale slides from left to right
the shallow end of gray is okay
she’s on the deep end grayscale of crazy

X still sounds like a verse, like verse 2 before the 1st chorus:

Don’t measure crazy from black to white
that scale slides from left to right
a little bit of crazy is okay
she fall’s into a whole lot of gray

Still looking for the chorus, to encapsulate Grayscale of Crazy. Deep end, weekend, we spend, she said, keep and, she begged, me dead, she meant, this end, week and
Shade, raised, explain, ashamed, blamed, behave, scaled, nail, jail, craved, crazed,
tint, hue, shade, tone
she needs to be a tint on the white side
not the black on the shade side
She’s on the dark end
She’s on the gray end
she’s hard to nail, she’s out of jail, a crazy scale
She’s on the deep end
a crazy grade
She’s on the deep end
grayscale of crazy
She’s on the deep end
What’s her shade?
She’s on the deep end
grayscale of crazy

[chorus]
She’s on the deep end
a grayscale of crazy
She’s on the deep end
What’s her shade?
She’s on the deep end
a crazy grade
She’s on the deep end
a grayscale of crazy

Free write verse 2:

1/10/25

v1- SO she might be crazy, how much crazy is ok?
chorus -a grayscale of crazy
v2- BUT I see warning signs of deep-end crazy
chorus – a grayscale of crazy
v3- Therefore, I must brake up with her
chorus – a grayscale of crazy

Should I substitute the word DEEP for DARK?

[v1] A A B B
Can’t measure crazy with black or white
that scale slides from left to right
a little bit of crazy is okay
but she fall’s into a whole lot of gray
she’s a deep dark gradient of gray
she might be a dark shade of gray

[chorus] A B A B
She’s on the deep end
of grayscale crazy
She’s on the deep end
What’s her shade?
She’s on the deep end
crazy grade
She’s on the deep end
of grayscale crazy

v2: BUT I see warning signs of her crazy

How to depict a crazy girlfriend? violent tendencies/breaks your stuff, refers to other people as crazy, unpredictability, long history of enemies, does she hide things from her past?, excessive bragging/building self up, *HOW QUICKLY she integrates herself into your life without letting you have a say?,

she is so thoughtful, She thinks of everything and preempts it so I don’t have to bother with the details. I met her yesterday, and she is bringing groceries and cooking dinner tonight. I met her yesterday, and she is meeting my parents tomorrow. I was out with the boys, and she shows up at the bar.

groceries, close a deal, capacity, mystery, discoveries, inquiries, batteries. parents, errands, embarrass, severance, independence, entrance.

she redecorated my apt now all my stuff is GONE, dawned, flaunt, along, strong, WRONG, belong, bomb, prolong,
week, critique, streak, antiques, sneaked, freaked,
home, own, thrown, alone, postpone,
she’s so sweet, she ran my errands this week
out with the boys, when she shows up

but she fall’s into a whole lot of gray
she’s a deep dark gradient of gray

has a cute pout on my boy’s night out

[vs2] A A B B
Brought her home yesterday,
she’s still here today
I met the one yesterday, brought her home today
I met a girl last night, she’s in my home today

SWITCH v2 and v2?

save for v3: she’s ready to meet my parent
I’ve lost my independence,

[v1] A A B B
I fell in love last night, brought her to my place
to ride her crazy train and she’s still here today
I stepped out for groceries when I came home
she’s moving in, trashing everything I own

[chorus] A B A B
She’s on the deep end
of grayscale crazy
She’s on the deep end
What’s her shade?
She’s on the deep end
crazy grade
She’s on the deep end
of grayscale crazy

[v2] or [prechorus] A A B B
Can’t measure crazy with black or white
that scale slides from left to right
a little bit of crazy is okay
but she might be a deep shade of gray

THIS STORY JUST DOESNT WORK YET. Change v2 to be the actual chorus because it’s the advice he gets from friends and family

Title?

[v1] A A B B
I met a girl we drove back to my place
I rode her crazy train into the next day
Went for groceries but when I came home
she’s moving in and trashing everything I own

[chorus] A B A A
She’s on the deep end
how to measure crazy?
She’s on the deep end
a scale not black or white
She’s on the deep end
a light gray is okay
but she’s on the deep end
of grayscale crazy <- nobody would say that.
in a dark gray<- a new title?

v2: I’m still on the crazy train, now she wants to meet my parents
v3: I have to break up with the crazy train

v2: A A B B
A week later I’m still riding crazy train
I should break up but I am too afraid
she’s making plans to meet my parents
while I lose my independence

OMG, is the title Crazy Train? now I have to change the chorus again?

[v1] A A B B
I met a girl we drove back to my place
I rode her crazy train into the next day
I went out for groceries but when I came home
she’s moving in and trashing everything I own

[chorus]
ride the crazy train
I can’t measure crazy
ride the crazy train
it’s not black and white
ride the crazy train
we’re a shade of gray
ride the crazy train
her crazy is a whole lot of gray

but crazy train’s gray
is on the dark side
I am color blind
but her shade is
on the dark side

v2: A A B B
A week later I’m still riding crazy train
I should break up but I am too afraid
she’s making plans to meet my parents
while I lose my independence

1/11/24 Nothing sounds as good as crazy train because repeating it becomes hook-y.

Can’t measure crazy in black or white
that scale runs from left to right
everyone falls in the spectrum of gray
but her shade of gray is a dark crazy
<-give up, it’s a different song

v1- SO I hop on her crazy train for a ride.
chorus –
v2- BUT now I’m too scared to jump from a moving train.
chorus –
v3- Therefore, I end up staying on the train forever, married.
chorus –

[v1] A A B B
Just met a girl we drove back to my place
I rode her crazy train into the next day
I went for groceries but when I came home
she’s moved in trashed everything I own

[chorus]

I’m already on the crazy train for the ride, isn’t is safer to stay on the train rather than to jump off? I could get off at the next stop, but the next stop never seems to come.

how do I jump off a crazy train? (crazy train)

[v2] A A B B
A week later still riding crazy train
I should break up but I’m kind of afraid <-reword, make about HER crazy
she’s making plans to meet my parents
while I lose my independence

A month later she drug me to the courthouse. I didn’t know how to tell her no. I didn’t really want to get married, but I didn’t know how to say no, and I didn’t really want to break up either, so I just let it slide on down to the courthouse. (insert acts of possessiveness)
Still riding crazy train while holding a ball and chain <- to make this payoff last line, insert his love sentiments instead? NO, demonstrate her craziness instead, keep song to 1 topic: how crazy SHE is.
x time later…
made her, nature, major, favor, player, layer, paper, blame her, forgave her, prayer, in labor, face her, debate her,

1/12/25

remove gray and scale from the chorus. replace v2.

[v1] A A B B
Just met a girl we drove back to my place
I rode her crazy train into the next day
I went for groceries but when I returned
she’s moving in trashing everything I own

[chorus] A B A B
she’s a train wreck
on a short track
she’s a train wreck
how did I attract?
she’s a train wreck
I need to get away
I’m too afraid to
to jump from a train
of a crazy train
jump from crazy train
noooo, look at v2 using all these words already.

she’s a train wreck
I can’t jump off
she’s a train wreck
because I will fall
she’s a train wreck
I need to get away
and take the jump
off the crazy train

[v2] A A B B
I’m a piece of cargo riding her train
speeding down the track I’m afraid
she’s making plans to meet my parents
while I lose my independence

[v2] A A B B
nine months later still riding crazy train
while holding a ball and chain
there’s a new girl in my life
growing up crazy like my wife

[chorus]

sense writing for v3? too scared to jump from a train: I like the saftey and comfort of being on the train, a gentle rocking like a baby where I don’t have to make decisions, that makes me feel taken care of. It’s windy, a roar of wind, speeding wind, the power of the rumble beneath, a shiny surface on the outside makes it cut through the wind, I feel like a piece of cargo packed away for safety, do I jump away from saftey into a dangerous situation? REMEMBER the song is about her crazy, so how to demonstrate sense writing of HER crazy, not his safety? she’s a whirlwind, broadsided, she took over so fast he don’t know what hit him, left him dazed but he might like it. LEAD into meeting his parents so soon-> I don’t know my own self and here you come taking over. I’m too polite to kick you out.. bleeding heart story of her hard life and nowhere to go?

she’s a train wreck
afraid to jump off
I’ll break my neck
when I fall
She’s a fast train I can’t escape
Crazy, they see, grey sea, may see, eighty, they be, Jan Brady, blame me, amaze me, play me, Gray, OK, in play, stay, pray, Cray,
track, attract, react, compact, impact
wreck, neck, effect, NEXT, sex, object, correct, select, reflect, ex, connect, erect, expect,
off the deep end escape, mistake, break, shake,
off, across, gone, caught, FALL, belong, crawl, haul,
exit, dismount

Crazy Train

[v1]
Drove that new girl back to my place
rode her crazy train into the next day
picked up groceries but when I returned
she’s moved in, trashed everything I own

[Chorus]
she’s a train wreck
can’t jump off
she’s a train wreck
I will fall
she’s a train wreck
get away
why can’t I
step off the train?

[v2]
I am cargo riding her train
speed down the track I’m afraid
she making plans to meet my parents
while I lose my independence

[chorus]

[v2]
nine months later still riding crazy train
while holding a ball and chain
there’s a new girl in my life
growing up crazy just like my wife

[chorus]

1/14/25

[v1]
Picked up a new girl and drove to my place
rode her crazy train into the next day
I stepped out but when I returned
found her moving in trashing everything I own

[Chorus]
crazy train
had enough
crazy train
can’t jump off
crazy train
look away
why can’t I
step off this train?

[v2]
I’ve never been good at saying goodbye
remain on board along for the ride <-him submitting already, not the story

I’m treated like baggage thrown aboard
strapped down and securely stored
she’s making plans to meet my parents
while I plan to lose my independence

[chorus]

[v2]
nine months later she is still insane
stuck on the train holding a ball and chain
there’s a new girl in my life
she will grow up crazy just like my wife

[chorus]

1/15/25

Watching more video tutorials on how to create a melody (desktop composer channel, thank you very much), I again see melodies being created with the virtual instrument. I promised myself not to open the DAW, but I have to open it to create a melody and NOT to play with the mixing process. Today is the first day creating a melody on the virtual piano (track 1), strum the guitar on track 2, and vocal on a 3rd track. I think this is my process.

When starting this, I realized my melody is unnecessarily over complicated and doesn’t even match the syllable bounce. I happily trashed all the work I did on paper(!) and went to 2 note melody of 1/2 notes. SO much better and easier for me to progress on. I finally feel like I wrote a melody, even if it is just 2 notes going from 1st to 3rd scale degree… gotta start somewhere!

1/16/25

Today I finished laying out the rest of the melody track. I did adjust the velocities on the notes, but trying not to play “mixing engineer”. I laid the second track of guitar, only slightly harder than I had hoped. Spent a little time making sure the timings where matching, but this is progress. AND THEN laid a ridiculous drum beat AND THEN laid a bass track to fill holes in the chorus.

1/17/25

That was still awful. Still trying to make a bad song better by mixing in more stuff. Go back to the song.

[v1]
Picked up a new girl drove to my place
rode-her crazy train into the next day
stepped out for groceries when I returned
found-her moving-in{trashing} ev-er-y-thing I own

[Chorus]
[C]crazy train
[G]had enough
crazy train
can’t jump off
crazy train
look away
why can’t I
step off this train?

[v2]
Treats-me like baggage throws me on board
strapping me down securely stored
she makes plans to meet my parents
while-I plan-to-lose my independence

[chorus]

[v2]
nine months later she’s still insane
I’m-on the train with a ball and chain
there’s a new girl in my life

[chorus]

I rode her crazy train
into the next day
when I wasn’t lookin’
she pulled a sneak move in

I was not red-day
but she did it any way
now I’m stuck riding
this train Godforsaken

Crazy Train
she over stayed
Crazy Train
she won’t go away
Crazy Train
she is insane
Why can’t I
step off this train?

feel like baggage on board
strapped down and secured
I didn’t agree to this
she won’t hear ‘I quit’

her arrangements
to meet the parents
opposed my plan to end
I want independence

[chorus]

I’m trying to break free
I don’t know how to leave
stuck on the train
with a ball and chain

nine months later
now there’s a new girl
they are just alike
growing crazy like my wife

[chorus]

raise her, blame her, chase her, hate her, forgave her, became her, escaped her
she’s growing up life, alike

01/18/25

opened Sketch in ProTools, wrote a melody to 150 bpm. I think it sounds really good.

01/19/25

double checked the melody, minor adjustment in the 2nd phrasing added 2 notes to give it the same shape as the 1st phrasing. I was worried the melody would sound too complicated today when I listen, but its not, I think it still sounds good.

If the story is a relationship, told through the lens of a train ride, then is it okay to have a verse that doesn’t relate back to the train ride? Like when talking about meeting the parents, trying to show forward movement in the relationship, but now I think forward motion should be instead reflected in the train? Does it change the story though?

Rode her crazy train into the next day
a sneaky move in when-I was not lookin’

I was not red-day she-did-it anyway
now I’m-stuck ri-din’ this Godforsaken

[chorus]
Crazy Train – she over stayed
Crazy Train – she won’t go away
Crazy Train – she is insane
Why can’t I – step off the train?

she threw me on board strapped down and stored
did not agree to this and she won’t hear ‘I quit’

her arrangements to meet the parents
