Momma was right
I can’t sing
Momma was right
about everything
but I’m gonna do it
and sing anyway

because that’s how I roll. I defy. and do it my own way.

when momma and me are old in our rocking chairs sitting out on the porch she’s gonna look at me and say one day “remember when you thought you could sing?”. The old me will laugh with her, but not today.
